Video Summary:
Planifi's Excel Import functionality is a powerful tool that allows you to easily upload project plans into the system from an Excel template. This feature offers flexibility and customization, enabling each organization to create their own unique template based on their specific needs.
To begin, navigate to the 'Plan' tab and click on the 'Import Template' button to download your configured template. This template includes essential fields such as phase or task codes, employee email address or name, start and end dates, and hours. Note that while the names of these fields can be customized, their core function remains the same.
This template allows you to schedule tasks for each employee, specifying the start and end dates and total hours for each task. For instance, you might schedule Employee A to work on Task 01 from September 24 to February 22. Planifi also supports duplicate entries, meaning that if you have a second row for the same employee and task, the system will combine the minimum and maximum start and end dates and total up the hours.
An additional feature of the Excel Import functionality is the ability to import time data. You can add columns to your template for different dates, specifying the hours for each date. This allows you to schedule hours for each employee on a weekly or monthly basis.
To import your completed Excel template, simply drag and drop the file onto Planifi. The system will perform an error check and if any errors are identified, you'll have the opportunity to correct them.
Planifi also provides options for manual import, which allows for some mapping, and a 'Clear and Re-import' function, which clears the existing plan and imports a new one from the Excel file.
In summary, Planifi's Excel Import functionality offers a streamlined and efficient method for importing project plans, making it easy to manage and schedule tasks for each employee. This feature facilitates the smooth transition of project plans from Excel to Planifi, ensuring seamless project management.
