It's important to understand the assignment mode Total, Weekly. or Manually will impact schedules changes.
If a project schedule is extended and the mode is:
1. Total, Planifi will keep the total hours and respread the hours over the project schedule.
2. Weekly, Planifi will add the weekly hours for each week added.
3. Manually, means the hours are edited and will keep the edits and add the number weeks with 0 hours.
If a project schedule is shortened and the mode is:
1. Total, Planifi will keep the total hours and respread the hours over the project schedule.
2. Weekly, Planifi will remove hours for each week removed.
3. Manually, means the hours are edited and will keep the edits removed weekly hours will be pushed to the last week to keep the number of hours the same.
There are some additional ways to change schedules in the View All Phases dialog on the Plan tab.
In the View All Phases Dialog you can use the check boxes on the left hand side to select multiple phases or tasks and then use 'Add Weeks' Or 'Shift Move' buttons to move the selected phases.
The Shift Move option will move the selected phases or task start and dates the entered number of weeks.
The Add Weeks option will add the number of week entered to the end of the selected phases or tasks. However, any planned staff or assignments will be given 0 hours for the additional weeks, this allows a manager to extend a schedule but only plan select staff manually.
